You’ve heard of GetResponse, right?

It’s the handy all-in-one marketing software tool that specializes in email automation and lead generation.

But did you know they just released a website builder feature in 2021? If not, don’t worry.

We’ll go over all the benefits and drawbacks of GetResponse’s website builder in this review article.

Check it out.

What is GetResponse?

GetResponse is an easy-to-use marketing automation software that helps entrepreneurs build targeted email lists and send high-impact newsletters, video emails, and follow-up campaigns that convert into sales and leads.

Some other features include:

Here’s a great YouTube video that explains exactly what GetResponse can do for your small business.

What is a Website Builder?

A website builder tool makes it easy to create your own site without coding.

For example, most builder software gives you a drag-and-drop tool to build web pages.

They also come with website templates that cater to specific niches and businesses.

What are some examples of Website Builders?

Some other website builders you can find online include Squarespace, Wix, GoDaddy, and Weebly.

They typically also provide web hosting services, a custom domain name, and SEO tools.

How Does it Work?

Compared to the leading website builder tools on the market, GetResponse performs just as well.

When you first start using it, you are given the option to choose between using templates or an AI to pre-build your site.

The website migration feature is not quite finished as of July 8, 2021. (Website Builder is still in Beta)

If you choose to use a prebuilt template, you will find a solid selection of templates.

However, there aren’t nearly as many options as some of the other builder software.

Website Builder Templates

On the other hand, GetResponse’s AI website builder is fairly intuitive.

Answer a few questions and you will have a prebuilt template made for your exact needs.

Once you get past this part, you will be sent to the actual drag-and-drop editor where you can add sections, pages, and other customizable elements to your website.

So what exactly are the features of this website builder?

GetResponse's Website Builder Features

Before we dive in deeper, here is a list of all the features available in GetResponse’s website builder:

  • Drag-and-drop editor
  • AI template builder
  • SEO tools
  • Analytics
  • Global color palette
  • Built-in pop-ins
  • Domain and SSL integration

Overall, GetResponse gets an A for its feature list.

Everything you need to get started is there.

The drag-and-drop editor is very simple to use and is comparable to WordPress’s Elementor plugin.

The AI builder gets the job done if you need a quick template. (You will have to make a lot of edits to personalize your site after)

I should mention that everything else you need to market your website is also available in GetResponse’s marketing software suite. This is also GetResponse’s biggest strength.

What are the benefits?

My favorite thing about GetResponse’s website builder is the accessibility.

It took all of 3 minutes for me to get started building my own website.

No credit card info, no long load times, no janky controls.

It was so easy.

Sure, it doesn’t have the same amount of features as something like Wix, but for a simple restaurant business website (or something similar), this is all you need.

When I made websites on Wix in the past, I would find that every add-on costs an extra fortune and a noticeable slowdown in speed.

With GetResponse, that’s not a problem.

For 15/month, you get the email marketing software and every feature that comes with the website builder–no extra fees.

They also offer a very generous free trial.

What are the negatives?

Of course, there are a few drawbacks we should mention too.

Just like other free website builders, your domain name is set to end with either “.grweb.site” or “.grwebsite.com”.

Many of the features are also bare-bones at best.

Take a look at the analytics for example.

Ignoring the fact that there are no statistics, this is all you get when it comes to analyzing your website’s performance.

The SEO tools are also lacking. It does not give you nearly as much help as something like Yoast SEO for WordPress.

Who should use this website builder?

I believe that this website builder should be used by someone who doesn’t have too much coding experience but wants to create a simple website.

Maybe you own a small online business and you want to drive traffic from social media to a simple website to make sales.

GetResponse’s website builder is a great option.

Additionally, if you don’t need anything too fancy, you really can’t go wrong with trying this tool out.

There’s a free 30-day trial where you don’t have to enter any payment information to get started.

It’s definitely worth it to take a look for yourself.

I think the best types of websites to make with this builder include:

  • Portfolio Websites
  • Simple Retail Store Websites
  • Personal Websites
  • Blogs
  • Photography Websites
  • Wedding Websites
  • eCommerce

Overall Summary

In the end, it comes as no surprise that GetResponse came out with a solid, reliable tool for building websites.

For years, they have already been dominating the email marketing and automation space as a must-have tool for small businesses and internet marketers.

Although the tool is still in beta, you should absolutely give it a shot if you need a quick, simple website today.

On the other hand, if you are just getting into website design, this is a great starting point.

At this current point in time, GetResponse’s website builder is easily one of the best free tools on the market. If you have a great business idea, don’t lose the chance to use this tool before it goes up in price.
